Christmas Tree Decorating

Haidyn said that her favorite thing about Christmas is decorating the Christmas tree.  She even said she liked it more than getting Christmas presents.  So, I decided to put her in charge this year.

She spent hours making the tree look perfect.

Hanging each bulb just right.

Camden even joined in to assist.

Then it was finished.

And we took a few pictures for memories.

Job well done!

The next day, Haidyn and Camden explained that all the ornaments must be taken off and put on again a little differently.

This continued every day throughout December.  I'm not sure if they got it how they want it yet, but they love it and I think I'll keep this tree as the "kid's tree" for years to come.

Grey Thursday

Our society has accepted this new idea where Thanksgiving is being overtaken by stores opening and they are calling it "Grey Thursday".  I don't know who originally came up with the idea.  I think one store started opening earlier than the others and the other stores felt they had to keep up so they opened even earlier and it continued from there.  Pretty soon we will just skip Thanksgiving altogether it seems and "Black Friday" will be no more.  It is pretty ridiculous if you ask me, and to protest my dislike for this idea- what do I do?  Well.. they say if you can't beat em' then join em' right?

It all started 6:00 PM Thanksgiving night and lasted for the next 6 hours.

The sales were better than we had expected.  Between the large bag of peppermint kisses, someone letting off stink bombs throughout Target, the pillows...so many pillows, I'd say it was very successful.

We may or may not have jotted down a few notes for how to proceed next year.
Until next time ladies!

Giving Thanks

Thanksgiving Day consists of some exciting activities.  The first is our annual bowling tradition early in the morning.

The steps to achieving a perfect TURKEY (three strikes in a row).

Step 1- Must select the perfect size of shoes and model them for the camera.

Step 2- Pick out the perfect sized ball that fits your fingers or just make sure it's a cute color.

Step 3- Throw it down the lane and observe.

Step 4- Celebrate your victory by snapping a family photo!

The next activity for the day included getting dressed up and taking a family selfie.

Off to the Nebeker Family Dinner we go.

Haidyn said she was thankful for her whole family.

Camden said he was thankful for Grandma Mindy's choo choo train.

The final activity of the day was eating at the Carter Family Dinner with these cuties.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone -- until next year!
