Jordanelle/Midway Vacation!

We went to Jordanelle Reservoir on Saturday till Monday this last Memorial Weekend. Then on Monday we headed over to Midway and stayed in a condo with some friends. Jordanelle is usually a really fun trip... We go into Park City and go shopping, we fish a bunch, play games, have campfires, and hold our annual softball game. This year was a bit different. We still went into Park City and got amazing deals, but the rest was kinda a bummer. We tried to fish but there wasn't any to catch. Chase was the only one to catch a fish, it was a pretty good sized rainbow. It rained and snowed the rest of the time so it was kinda a muddy mess. :( But things got fun the last night. We got into a wicked game of catch phrase which ended in everyone shouting and laughing.

The trip got a lot better once we went to the condo. We went swimming and hot tubbing, Haidyn and Scarlett loved the pool. Then we went back to the condo and relaxed, had dinner and made yummy cookies. The next day it was beautiful outside! Why couldn't it have been that way when we were sleeping outside? oh mother nature...so we decided to go walk and see some craters and play at the park. It was really fun and I'm so glad the Black's could come with us!! :)

Some of the crew.. The Nebeker Family's with some weird guy in the middle that just shows up every year! :)

My family in front of the lake!

Haidyn tried to catch a fish with half a pole :)

In the messy trailer.. It was so messy cause we couldn't be outside due to the rain and snow:( Don't mind our camping looks...

Haidyn and Scarlett running and playing at the Homestead in Midway...

We got home Tuesday afternoon and had a bummer deal happen. We discovered we'd been robbed. Worst feeling ever. We're trying to stay positive and remember what we've been blessed with. We are so grateful for our wonderful family and friends we have for support.

Month of May!! Part 2

The next activity from our month of busyness was going to the Logan Zoo with our good friends that live up there. Haidyn loves her friend Scarlett. They are only a few weeks apart in age and are so fun to watch play together. We had a great time at the zoo and playing at the park...

CHASE HAD A BIRTHDAY SHOUT HURRAY!
Chase turned 27 on May 16th.
The weekend before his birthday, I decided to take him on a date. I took him to Outback Steakhouse and then to Nielson's Custard in Layton... Yummy. Chase was in need of some new shirts so I bought him 5 new ones and since he is picky, I hoped he would like at least 2. I was in luck! He did like two of them and we took the others back to exchange for ones he liked. I swear he is the hardest person to shop for... :) On Sunday, my family threw him a birthday party and gave him some nice dumbbells! He was very excited about those cause he's wanted some for years now. We had a fun barbecue at the Carter's the following Sunday to top it off. I hope you had a great birthday Chase! Here's some pics from the fun times...

Month of May!! Part 1

Wow this last month seemed to be packed with busyness (Is that a word?). I have not been able to post it all! So here it goes...

First things First... CHASE GRADUATED!!!!

For the past 2 years including summers (blah), Chase has been going down to the U of U 2-4 nights/weekends a week depending on the semester to complete his MPA (Master's of Public Administration). It has been hard at times, I will admit, due to feeling like a single mother... but in the end it was all worth it! I am so proud of you Chase!!! Here are some pics from the awesome day...

We started out by meeting my family and Chase's family at Firehouse Pizzeria in Centerville for some dinner...

Then we headed over to the Huntsman Center at the University and watched Chase walk and receive his diploma.. Yay Chase!!! :)

Afterwards, we met outside for some Snap Shots!

I love you Chase and I am So proud of You!

MOTHER'S DAY is next during this month of busyness. I am so grateful to have Haidyn and for the opportunity I have to be a mother to a beautiful little girl. I was very excited for Mother's Day this year just because I was thinking that I would have a day off from the house and taking care of Haidyn and just relax... UNTIL I got the call on Friday night....

Chase was on the phone with the Bishop when he came over and said the Bishop wanted to speak with me. I don't know about you but when I hear that I think "Oh no". Not because I don't like to talk to the Bishop, cause I do. But when you get a call on Friday, you know its gonna lead to being asked to do something that you'd really rather not do but you know that it will strengthen you as a person so you say yes anyway kind of thing. So he asked me if I would speak in sacrament on Mother's Day. Ugh... It went well though, I think, despite my nervousness and over-thinking it. My mom came and watched me speak so that helped a little.

The rest of the day went very well. Chase and I had purchased a new bedroom set only a week before so we were considering that as mother's and father's day gifts. Chase, however, surprised me with an Itunes gift card and card which was way nice of him. We went and visited my Grandma Slater and my Mom first at my Grandma's house and then went and visited Chase's mom. Then we went to dinner at my Grandma Nebeker's house. It was a very fun day!! Thank's Chase and Haidyn, Love you guys!
