Springtime in Review

BABY ANIMAL DAYS-
The Friday before Easter, we went up to Logan to meet up with our friends the Blacks for Baby Animal Days.  It wasn't very busy because it was a cloudy, cold day so it was perfect.  Haidyn and her friend Scarlett had a blast petting all the animals and riding the horses....

We make cute farm animals don't we?

Riding the "Hosez".

Best Friends!

EASTER-
Easter weekend was full of fun!  Haidyn participated in 3 Easter Egg
Hunts, one at Lee Olsen Park in Plain City, another at
Grandma and Grandpa Carter's, and another with the Slater
Family in Slaterville.  We dyed eggs with my mom and sisters.
The Easter Bunny also visited our house.  He brought Haidyn
a new "sisuit", "Slippers" (flip-flops), Easter Dress,
baby stroller, and camp chair.

VOLLEYBALL-

I played on a Spring Volleyball league with some good friends!
We Dominated even with 2 of us being prego! :)

LAGOON-

Chase's co-worker gave us some passes for a super good deal that we couldn't pass up.  Since it was so cheap, we decided we would bring Haidyn so she would be able to ride all the kiddy rides. We invited Haido's cousin's Macy and Coleman and had a blast.  Haidyn rode every ride at least once.  The boat ride and merry-go-round were her faves.  She loved riding them with "Macycoleman".  She thinks of them as one person I think.

Riding the Ferris Wheel.  Haidyn was not afraid at all.  I think I was more nervous than anyone.
LIBRARY-  Haidyn and I have started going to Discovery Time at the library every Thursday morning.  She loves it!  They sing songs, read stories, act out animals and make crafts.  Here is Haidyn modeling her pirate hat while saying "aargh".

1ST ICE CREAM CONE EXPERIENCE- Ya I guess I thought they would be too messy before now.  Well she surprised me and ate it so dainty, there was hardly a mess to clean up.  But she definitely wanted more!

Expecting! Assume the position!

We have some exciting news! Chase and I are expecting our 2nd little one on November 7, 2012.  I am 12 weeks along today so I decided it was time to start documenting the pregnancy of baby #2.  This is a long post and is mostly for my benefit so I can remember these little things of pregnancy but feel free to read if you'd like.

Finding Out and Telling the Hubby
2012-02-25 12.48.26.jpgI took a pregnancy test on Friday, February 24 right before bed and I was shocked to see a positive sign because technically I would only be a little over 3 weeks along so I figured it would be too early to tell.  I decided to wait until the morning to take another one to double check.  Chase was going to go work on our car at his dad's in the morning so I waited for him to leave before I took another test.  Sure enough it was positive again!  I was very excited!  I had decided previously that the next time I was pregnant, I would wait a while to tell Chase and then even longer to tell our family and friends. But, I'm really bad at keeping in good news so I grabbed Haidyn and went into town to get a "Big Sister" shirt.  They had a whole section at Carter's which was convenient so we grabbed it and I threw it on her in the car.  I was expecting Chase to be home when we got there.  Instead, I got a call from him that the car was taking longer than he thought and that he was going to go out to lunch with his dad.  Well I was annoyed because I am very impatient.  Haha. I told him that he needed to hurry home because I had to be somewhere.  He finally got home and I was very smooth because I wanted to film his reaction.  I buttoned up Haidyn's Levi jacket and turned up some music.  Haidyn can't help but dance whenever music comes on so I pretended like I was filming her dance moves while Chase came up the stairs.  I then asked Chase to take off her jacket because it looked like she was getting hot.  He took it off and saw the shirt.  It only took him 3 seconds to realize what it meant and he was way excited.  Haidyn didn't understand what it meant exactly but she was excited because we were.

Telling the Families
Our original plan was to wait until Easter to tell our families and I would have been 10 weeks along at the time.  But like I said above, I am not very good at holding in good news and neither is Chase. :)  It was also very hard to hide because I was definitely showing and running to the restroom to throw up every half hour wasn't helping either.  So we decided to tell them at 8 weeks along.  We went over to Chase's parents on a Sunday and had Haidyn wear the shirt with the jacket buttoned up again.  I video taped it and I really want to get it to work on here because after we asked Chase's parents to take the jacket off, it took them about 5 minutes and some more hinting before they got it.  It was hilarious!  They were excited though after they figured it out! :)  We went to my families house next and my youngest sister Kaitlyn decided to take her jacked off because it was really hot.  She said "oh cute shirt" but didn't get it.  We were having a party for my sister Amber's birthday so my grandma's were all there.  Everyone looked over at the shirt when she said that and was like "no way!"  My sisters started jumping around excited and poor Kaitlyn had no idea what was going on.  We finally explained what the shirt meant and she started jumping around too.  It was a lot of fun.  I'm really going to try and get those videos to load because it was hilarious.

The Weirdness of Pregnancy and Eating
I don't know if it is just me but my body weirds out each time I'm pregnant in a different way! Everything seems to have switched when it comes to eating...  Foods that I ate all the time before now make me want to puke, and foods that I would never eat before sound really good to me now.  For example:  Chicken- Oh my goodness... I don't think I've ever realized how much food is made with chicken until I can not even think of the word without getting nauseous.  EVERYTHING has chicken...tacos, enchiladas, chik-fil-a (which was my favorite go-to fast food), hawaiian haystacks (which was my favorite go-to for a quick dinner fix), maddox drive-up, its like a never ending world of chicken... why oh why does it make me so sick to even look at now, let alone taste?? I do not know.. but it is very inconvenient to say the least!

Another opposite example: Milk and Fruit Smoothies-  I grew up in a household where we had cold cereal with milk pretty much every morning for breakfast and I still do.  That was pretty much the most milk I would like to have throughout the day.  Since this pregnancy though, I can poor glassfuls of milk, drink them, and still want more!  It is so satisfying.  I never enjoyed the taste very much before but I LOVE it now.  As for the fruit smoothies, ya I would like them once in a while but if I had the choice, I was definitely going for something chocolate.  Well not now.. fruit smoothies and fruit ice cream just sounds better to me.  Chocolate not so much.  I'm fine with the milk and fruit weirdness but I really hope I can go back to eating chicken soon because there is only so much I can make with beef and pork.

Sickness and Dr. Haidyn
I really envy those women that do not get sick during their pregnancy at all!  Why can't we all be equal in that sense?  Well I'm one of the majority, I believe, of women that unfortunately gets really sick for the first part of pregnancy.  I am grateful that it doesn't last throughout the entire thing.  Haidyn has been a really good Dr. to me though.  She has found this new liking for Dr.'s and she has this little Dr. kit.  So when I'm laying on the couch resting for a minute, she will come up to me and ask "Is baby belly sick today?" I will say "yes, baby belly is sick"  she will then say "I kiss it better" and will kiss my stomach.  Then she takes her Dr. stuff and listens to my heart, looks in my ears, etc.  After she has completed the exam, she says "baby belly all better".  Haha.  I wish it was that easy! She is so fun though :)  Chase has also been THE BEST husband these past few months.  I am so grateful for him.  He has helped me with the house and watching Haidyn and he is so supportive.  I am very blessed to have my little family to support me.

Great Valentine's Day!

We had a great Valentine's Day this year. It was my turn to plan it. Chase and I take turns every year planning Valentine's Day and our Anniversary. I wanted to do something really fun that we don't normally do. I decided to get tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert. They came to concert with Thompson Square and Darius Rucker. We went with my sister Jessica and her date Ryan. We had a blast!! They did a really great job performing! Before the concert, I had planned to go to this really nice restaurant in Bountiful "The Mandarin", and I even called to get on the list but it was too packed unfortunately. So we went to plan B which was a chicken burrito and tacos at Chipotle! haha. It was yummy!

Even though it was my turn to plan the day, Chase couldn't help but do something special for me too. The night before Valentine's, I had to work till 6:30. On the way home from work, I got into a car accident. I hit a deer, some other cars crashed into each other and hit more deer. It was a bad deal. Chase had planned on me being home at 6:45. But instead I didn't get home till about 7:30 and I was shook up pretty bad. I walked into the house and lining the stairs up to the dining room was rose petals and cookies and cream kisses. I started crying from everything that had happened already that day... haha poor Chase. He bought me a dozen roses, an "I love you" balloon, a nice dinner, and had made me a slideshow that was playing in the background of our past memories. He is such a sweetheart!! Even though that day was a roller coaster of emotion, I'm so glad Chase was there to make it all better and cheer me up. I love you babe.

Dance into the New Year

Happy New Year Everyone!

Famous Idaho Potato Bowl

So for Christmas this year, I decided to surprise Chase with an early present. He had mentioned earlier in the month that he thought it would be fun if we went up to the Utah State Bowl Game that was going to be held in Boise. Well I kinda blew it off by saying that we can't afford that, that it wouldn't be fun to drive all that way for one day kinda thing. So then I got planning. I found a sweet deal on Orbitz for a one night stay at the Homewood Suites that I couldn't pass up. The game tickets were kinda pricey but I finally found a good deal and bought them. I told Chase that he needed to be home as soon as possible on Friday because I had a date planned. I thought that he would catch on when he asked if he could make plans with friends for Saturday night and I said no, but he didn't have a clue why. Haha he even asked if he would be able to watch the bowl game on Saturday and I said "Oh ya, no worries about that, you can watch it." So sneaky....So on Friday, I worked in the morning and was planning on having everything packed in the car by 3 when he said he would be home. Well he pulled in at 230 and I hadn't quite thrown everything in yet. I ran downstairs with Haidyn before he had a chance to come in the house and we handed him a letter that said "Get in the car, we're going to Boise. Go Aggies!" He was so shocked and thrilled! Yay! Finally a Christmas gift that he doesn't want to take back! haha So off we went....We drove straight through to Boise and when we arrived at the Homewood Suites, we were pleasantly surprised to say the least. If you ever need to say in Boise, stay there. The room had a kitchen, living area, big screen, king bed and super nice bathroom. The pool was way nice and open 24/7. They even served a Deluxe breakfast in the morning that I quite enjoyed. I was fine just staying there to watch the game! But Chase didn't agree.. so we checked out and headed to the tailgate parties. The parties were so much fun.. The Aggies had a party in the Taco Bell Arena and had Aggie ice cream and food. We had the ice cream and it was yummy. We then went out and watched a band play and Monster Energy Drinks gave out free drinks and had snowmobile stunt guys doing crazy jumps. We got some free french dip sandwiches and potatoes. It was a really warm day for December so Chase decided to leave his coat in the car and go to the game. That was a mistake. I don't know why they don't start that game earlier in the day because by the second half, 50% of the fans that were there had left, and we were trying to think of ways to stay warm... It was soooooooo cold. Haidyn and I probably shared 4 hot chocolates (I know, very healthy), we also spent a good amount of time in the heated bathrooms. By the end of the game, Chase and I were completely numb and I really didn't care who won at that point. Haidyn was bundled up completely and had fallen asleep at the start of the 4th quarter so she was fine. Even though we froze and the Aggies couldn't pull it off, I'm still glad we were able to do a mini trip.
