Month of May!! Part 1

Wow this last month seemed to be packed with busyness (Is that a word?). I have not been able to post it all! So here it goes...

First things First... CHASE GRADUATED!!!!

For the past 2 years including summers (blah), Chase has been going down to the U of U 2-4 nights/weekends a week depending on the semester to complete his MPA (Master's of Public Administration). It has been hard at times, I will admit, due to feeling like a single mother... but in the end it was all worth it! I am so proud of you Chase!!! Here are some pics from the awesome day...

We started out by meeting my family and Chase's family at Firehouse Pizzeria in Centerville for some dinner...

Then we headed over to the Huntsman Center at the University and watched Chase walk and receive his diploma.. Yay Chase!!! :)

Afterwards, we met outside for some Snap Shots!

I love you Chase and I am So proud of You!

MOTHER'S DAY is next during this month of busyness. I am so grateful to have Haidyn and for the opportunity I have to be a mother to a beautiful little girl. I was very excited for Mother's Day this year just because I was thinking that I would have a day off from the house and taking care of Haidyn and just relax... UNTIL I got the call on Friday night....

Chase was on the phone with the Bishop when he came over and said the Bishop wanted to speak with me. I don't know about you but when I hear that I think "Oh no". Not because I don't like to talk to the Bishop, cause I do. But when you get a call on Friday, you know its gonna lead to being asked to do something that you'd really rather not do but you know that it will strengthen you as a person so you say yes anyway kind of thing. So he asked me if I would speak in sacrament on Mother's Day. Ugh... It went well though, I think, despite my nervousness and over-thinking it. My mom came and watched me speak so that helped a little.

The rest of the day went very well. Chase and I had purchased a new bedroom set only a week before so we were considering that as mother's and father's day gifts. Chase, however, surprised me with an Itunes gift card and card which was way nice of him. We went and visited my Grandma Slater and my Mom first at my Grandma's house and then went and visited Chase's mom. Then we went to dinner at my Grandma Nebeker's house. It was a very fun day!! Thank's Chase and Haidyn, Love you guys!

What a Treat!

Easter was a lot of fun this year! It is a lot more fun when you have a little girl that loves easter egg hunting! Haidyn participated in two hunts this year... One at Grandma Carter's the week before Easter and one at Grandma Slater's on Easter. I wasn't sure if she would catch on to putting them in her basket but she surprised me and thought it was the coolest thing to search for all the eggs. She didn't care to keep them though. As soon as she found them all, she went around sharing them with all the other kids :)

Showing Grandpa what she found!

The three Grandkids on the Carter's side... Haidyn, Coleman and Macy!

Searching for some eggs at Grandma Carter's!

Easter morning.. The Easter Bunny brought Haidyn a new dress and sweater, the movie Tangled, chalk, bubbles, and lots of goodies. He also brought Chase and I some new suits! Haidyn thought the eggs were the funnest toy ever invented. She would open them, put her little toys in them, then close them, then open them, then move them from one room into the next, then put them all in her basket, then move them to another basket, then in her purse, and so on... such an adventure!

Swinging on Great Grandma's gazebo swing was so much fun!

Haidyn loved swinging with her cousins!

Following the big kids to find the goods!

Haidyn loved finding all the eggs and opening them to see what surprises were inside!

Happy Easter Everyone!

ST. GEEZY

We went down to St. George last weekend for the City Manager's Conference that Chase went to for school. We left Friday and came home Tuesday. It was really fun and relaxing. It was pretty cold the first two days there but we entertained ourselves by going to the temple, hanging out with my sis who lives there, and going to the outlet mall. The last few days we were there it was warmer so we decided to go swimming. Haidyn loved the pool. She loved splashing and riding on daddy's back. She loved the 1 1/2 foot kiddie pool cause she was able to walk around in it. I love going to St. George. There are some really good places to eat down there. We tried Honolulu Grill and got the Kulua Pork with cucumber salad and it was Way good!! My sis and I went to lunch at Twentyfive Main Cafe and Cupcakes which was also delish! Here are some pics from our fun vaca...
Haidyn found some rocking chairs just her size at Cracker Barrel...

Haidyn loved the Pasta.. A little too much :)

The fountains on Main were really fun to splash in.

We loved swimming in the pools!

The St. George Temple is SO pretty. Did you know it was the first one built in Utah? Pretty Neato!

The poolside view was beautiful!

Just trying on some racoon hats... Don't they look good?

RSV

Two Thursdays ago, Haidyn woke up at midnight with a Horrible cough and 103.5 fever. We thought it was just another cold but her fever did not go away. Tuesday morning, she had a fever of 101 still and the cough was getting worse. Instead of running around everywhere like Haidyn normally does, she was so sick that she just laid on the floor staring at the wall really sick. So.. I made the Dr. appt and it turned out she had RSV. She did not eat for 4 days. The Dr. said she had a sore throat and ear infection. I have never seen her that sick before. The Dr. had us order a Nebulizer which required us to put a mask on her every 4-6 hours which Haidyn did not like at all.. poor girl :( She is just now feeling better and running around again. Here are some pics from her sad time...

Best Weekend/Valentine's Ever!

Well Valentine's Day this year was not very exciting due to the fact that Chase had work and school till late and I worked also. So.. Chase and I decided to skip the actual day and have a Valentine's Weekend date instead. Chase informed me a few weeks before that he would be taking me on a nice date on Saturday. I was very excited to get out and do something fun. He took me to Rickenbacker's Restaurant which was delish and we even shared a Cheesecake. YUM! After dinner, we made our way to the Classic Fun Center (I know, I haven't been there since 6th grade either)... but I don't know why not because it's a riot. We roller-skated the night away. They even play this game where all the boys have to line up on the wall and the girls skate around and pick the boy they want to skate with. Haha After skating we decided to get some tokens for the arcade games and won two very stylish bracelets with all the tickets we collected. :) Since it was such a fun night, I thought the date was over and I would have been very pleased with it. But no. Chase had another surprise up his sleeve. Sunday morning comes around and the day goes as usual until we go to my parents for dinner. My mom suddenly blindfolds me and my sisters shove me in the car. We drive for a half hour until I find that Chase planned to surprise me with a "Staycation" to a condo in Wolf Creek. It was the best! So relaxing.. And again I say Best Weekend Ever :) Love you Chase
